Our Environmental Policy

" Reduce the impact of the Group’s activity on the environment and improve current living conditions in order to bequeath a protected environment to future generations. "

The environmental impacts of the Arc International sites mainly concern:

-    Energy consumption
-    Aqueous or atmospheric pollution
-    The choice of materials for manufacturing products
-    Waste management

The energy factor is fundamental for Arc International with respect to production processes. This is why for several years the Group has been looking for technological solutions to reduce energy consumption and to switch over as soon as possible to less polluting energies. It voluntarily committed to programmes for reducing CO2 emissions for instance the AERES programme (in France) and the PNAQ programme (national plan for allotment of quotas) based on the Kyoto protocol.

The Group gives priority to river or sea transport in order to limit environmental impact.
A European reference document on technologies used in the glass-making world has ranked Arc International among those companies which are the most respectful of the environment.

Our aqueous and atmospheric wastes are regularly measured to avoid any undue increase. Filters or decanters are used whenever possible to limit environmental impact. For instance, water is recycled everywhere that this is technically feasible. Most of the materials used for making products can be recycled and are biodegradable (glass, English porcelain, stainless steel, among others). The Group is represented on local, national or international committees which promote a rational vision of the environment.

The organisation set up to reduce our environmental impact follows the guidelines of the ISO 14001 standard.
